Default Roaring 10 bolt

My rearend has developed a fairly laud roar.I was planning to change gears to a 3.90 and was debating changing my Auburn pro for a Eaton or should I just install new bearings on the Auburn.

It was pretty much constant while the truck was on the dyno.

Prolly bearings then .. gear whine come and goes.

I like the **** out of my Eaton Posi, but from what I can tell by reading, one is as good as the other.

I work on the line next to the line that assembles the 8.6 and I would bet it's the carrier bearings going bad. The person putting in the case just drops them in.
