Shackle on... Now a vibration!!
Put an extra set of shackles I had on my truck. Now ive got a neato vibration under hard accel up to 30mph. Is this the tell tale sign of needings shims?? If I get some, do I get 1* or 2*?? Who else has run into this problem with an ex-cab??

you should probably get shims. so should i in fact. 2* shims will be ideal IMO. i broke a carrier bearinf after running the leveling shackles for about 2 years and im hoping i dont trash another one before i spend 20$ on some shims. 20$ now or 190$ later...

Ok. I peeked at a Ground Force shackle kit for NBS ex-cab trucks. Guess what it comes with!!!!!
Shackles, of course
CARRIER BEARING RELOCATOR
2.5* PINION SHIM KIT
TRANNY SHIM
And some extremely detailed instructions. Looks like Ground Force knows whats up and provided a resolution. I think Belltech sucks after seeing this kit.

The reason most of you guys have this problem is because your only lowering the rear side of the springs which change the suspension geometry of the pinion angle.
I'm using hangers and shackles to get a 3.5" drop in the rear. By lowering both sides of the leaf springs, the pinion angle doesn't change much if any, when the carrier bearing spacer is used in conjunction.
I have the 2* shims ready as well just in case.
The only thing I don't have is the tranny shim. It seems like a logical idea to level the tranny with the carrier bearing relocation hidth. I might look into it and see if their shim will work with the McGaughys carrier bearing relocation bracket.
