Shackle/Shackle Bolt = Anti-Christ
Wow - 45 min job turns into all day ordeal!!
Suffice to say, installing 2" drop shackles into my RCSB seemed like a simple father son project to give the truck the right stance.
Driver side went in without a hitch.
Next up, the passenger side.
After 1 hr or turning, cursing, spraying PB Blaster and calling in the NASA engineers (not joking)- it only took another 2 hrs to liberate this beast from its perch.
And despite the thread suggesting similar issues are due to the axle being loaded - that isn't the issue. You could rotate the entire sleeve and bolt in the bushing. This is a corrosion issue.
Suffice to say, the shackle bolt was totally fused to the steel liner in the shackle making it impossible to bang, press, pry, torch or otherwise remove without permanent harm. In the end, 2 Sawzalls (5 blades), 2 air chisels, 4 prybars (including titanium) and 2 angle grinders, air and electric were able to conquer this thing!
Wow - I hope the cam swap doesn't fight me like this.

I gave up trying to get mine out It's rusted in there for good. I had a breaker bar on it and the head of the bolt was twisting pretty good. I was worried I was gonna snap it so I gave up.

Yeah - bought this one from Kansas a few months ago off this board. Great little truck, but some of the corrosion has made it challenging. I'm slowly replacing / painting the key underside items - all surface rust except for some sticky fasteners.
