Default Shift Firmness

I just installed a new tranny and im wondering is a hard shift a good one?? i have the vette servo and hypertech and the shifts seem a bit rough sometimes is that a problem or would be the cause of any future ones??

IMO a quick shift is way better than a loose shift as less heat/wear is generated. A hard shift can break things if too hard. I have been running a pretty firm shift via FLT rebuilt trans for about 40K with 0% torque management and I haven't broken anything yet. Of course, Chuck beefed up some hard parts to hopefully avoid breakage. I chirp the 1-2 shift about 50% of the time and drive pretty hard.
