shift kit with no tune?
I have a 2003 yukon with a 4l60e that is rebuilt but I dont like the way it shifts. pretty sluggish and I would like to put in a shift kit but do I have to tune it or can I just install the kit with no tune. Or would I just be better off installing a hypertech tuner or something like it and no shift kit? thanks

I just installed a shift kit and servo's with out a tune and it shifts awesome.
You don't want a tune that increases the line pressure ( shift firmness) with a shift kit. That would make the line pressure too high.

correct. You don't need to tune for a shift kit. It's designed to make the shifts quick and firm and servos make the shifts grab tighter and hold stronger.
Tuning would be for increasing shift points and reducing shift time.
Handheld Tuners are junk that will just increase line pressure which isn't really preferred on a stock tranny.

which shift kit do you guys recommend. I have seen kits from 50 to 250 bucks. This trans is rebuilt with some updates like 3/4 clutches and the beast sunshell. I dont need a race shift but just a good positive shift. thanks for all the input too..
