to shift kit, or not to shift kit

get the shift kit and if your have an aftermarket tune then have the line pressures returned to stock

the TR224 in an LS1 is a really nice combo... esp with the 3K converter.

When you do the Transgo shift kit....have your Tuner re-tune your PCM for the shift kit and they will reset your shift points and line pressure, so that way the kit can actually do that for you.

I have a Transgo shift kit in mine and I love it. Your tranny will lats long with the quick shifts as opposed to the slower smoother shift fro the OEM settings. Slower moother shifts=more heat and more heat=a bad day for a tranny.

Get a deep trans pan with a drain plug also, this will make changing the oil way easier.

Just installed my HD2 yesterday! I also added a Vette servo, metal accumulator pistons and a hardened separator plate.
I couldn't be happier with my transmission now. It shifts firm but not hard. The shifts are also very quick without any slippage.
I highly recommend a shift kit.

Also, thanks to everyone that posted their installation advice on Performance Trucks. Your help and tips made my installation go flawlessly. Again, thanks.

Yah man might as well do it, your tranny is going to need every x-tra bit of help to live a lil behind a swap...
