I used 2 washers for the 1-2 shift accumulator. It shifts pretty firm, I love it. If you go with 1 washer Im sure it would be much softer.

Check out this thread about the HD2. It looks like only some 05 and up (MINE) are affected, but this is why people like dealing with FLT.

if you could afford it bill, get ahold of mater and have Hodge just build the trans. he did my 60 and it held well and for the price you wont find anyone else touch it

I've got a shift kit on my truck and I love it, I never got to drive it before the install but I am sure it was allot less responsive. I mean it is an automatic, but hey it feels good to have something a little more agressive. I don't know man, if you're going through the trouble of doing an LS1 swap, might as well get a shift kit to go along with it

This sounds like what I need, guys. I also have a '96 Impala SS and wish to everything under the sun that my truck could/ would shift like that, sporty and controllable. Not fighting for second gear at WOT outta the toll booth........
