Shift Kit vs Tune
Can you get all the benefits of a shift kit by tuning? What does the shift kit do? Just raise the line pressure? Does it do anything else?
Im looking for firmer shifts for better durability. Currently the 1-2 shift at wot is taking too long. I havent done the vette servo yet. Should I install a shift kit with the servo?

IMO, no, if you wanna post up your tune, i will take a look at it... Did you bump up your tranny pressures, lower your shift times, remove some/all TM, etc in the tune?

tm?? what is that. i believe a shift kit can be better than just a tune. if you only use the epc to change fluid pressure then you arent changin anything but the firmness of the shift. with a shift kit you can change how fast it shifts

There pretty inverse of each other, both do about the same.
You can change shift times, pressure and other sutff in the tune as well.
Most built trannies call for stock shift pressure in the tune because they are raised mechanically in the trans....

i dont mean to steal the thread... but this is exactly what i wanted to read... cuz im thinking of the transgo kit, i downloaded the install vid from the site and watched it a lot and seems like its fairly simple... but my truck is mostly stock(for now) an has 97982 miles on it... wondering if the transgo kit would work and if i would need the vette servo or not... buddy o mine did a transgo kit on a truck and he just did a kit and he said at good throttle it gets 1-2 chirp and sometimes 2-3 chirp. and when is it not worth doing a kit?
