I was thinking I might get a little better times by shortening my 1-2 and extending the 2-3?

Currently shifting at 6200rpm
peak hp@5986
Peak tq@4325
2800 converter puts me at around 4200 shifting into 2nd and 3800 in third? 3rd sucks, what can i do to improve my 1/4 at the bottom of 3rd?

This vid shows shift extensions

do you have a GTech or can get your hands on one? That would be really helpful. There are alot of trucks turning good times shifting below 6K

Dont have one or access to one. If I can get into 2nd sooner and 3rd at a little higher rpm i would think my ET would drop and TS increase, no?

What rpm are you going through the traps in the 1/4? If you still have some rpm left a gear change might help make it a little quicker.

Thanks Vince, I'm running 3.73's with the Radix, they work well around town and on the hiway so I dont want to change to a lower ratio. A tire change is something to be considered for next season.
I am crossing the trap at around 4300 +/- I hit 3rd at 85mph/3800rpm and finish @ 103+mph so I'm still at the bottom of 3rd.

you need to be crossing the traps at a much higher RPM.

you can do that with a short sticky tire and cross at higher rpms.
