Default trans swap

Oh man those truck would have sold like madd. Just like the lightning did until 2004.

Just a quick question. Are the pedals hard to swap besides the limit in space? Also Can I use a center console from the Denali? It comes with all kinds of bells and whistles?

I don't see why you couldn't use the Denali console. I am unsure about the peddles since I didn't have to do the swap. To make sure you get the tranny right just install it without the shifter on it and mark it. I didn't have to cut a big hole at all. Just big enough to allow me to install the sifter from the top side. Cut the carpet and insulation in the shape of an X so the shifter will poke up through it but the insulation lays against it to aid in sound dampening. Also, if you get the console that goes all the way to the dash you will also have to get the glove box and housing (or at least the outer trim but the glove box comes with it if you buy it from GM). The current front trim piece goes from the passenger door all the way to the steering wheel basically and the one for a console is much smaller.

You might have to make a nut plate for the pedal assembly to bolt into the existing holes. You could run long bolts all the way through the firewall, but I opted for a cleaner approach.

As for the the hole, I assume you're talking about the master cylinder hole. There will be a little dimple on the firewall that you can use as a guide for center. And I believe you'll need a 2.5" hole saw.

Oh yeah, take the pedal off the bracket before trying to install it. It makes things a lot easier.

Default INstall

Well the little dimple is a hole about hal inch around to get the wire thru for my AEM gauge. As for the pedals I am assuming it is not that bad just need larger bolts right?

Mr Gibbs thanks for the info much appreciated.
