My honest opinion? Let Chuck spec a PI 10.5" triple disk for you.

IF you were to go with a yank 2800 its gonna be "tighter" from the yanks Ive seen. Yank is a tight converter where the Fuddles from my readings on here were loose.

Pay the extra and don't worry about it. That's how I would do it. FLT uses PI for a reason. Since everyone has such great luck with their tranny's, just go with what Chuck recommends.

Have you ever driven on a Yank? Just curious how the feel is compared to your PI (i.e. tightness/looseness).

To me, even if he hasn't experienced a Yank, I would use FLT's PI converter for the sake of warranty reasons for the FLT tranny. That's just my bias opinion I guess. Seems to make sence to me though.

I cannot speak to other converters. I am completely satisfied with my PI. Originally stalled for 2600. Doing about 2800 now. I think the difference in cost is in the billet cover.

PI converters are not FLT's converters. Its a Precision Industries Vigilante triple disk converter that FLT is a distributor for. I will never buy a PI unless I find a good deal on one used they are rediculously expensive.

Thanks for all the inputs guys. I think I'm going to go PI for the reasons so many of you said. FLT recommends them for a reason. Chuck has been pretty up front with me about this problem and said he would take of me the best he could. I figure he'll get me the best price on the converter and tranny flush as a pkg deal. I think I will go 2800 and I'm leaning toward a 3000 stall. 2900 maybe? LOL

Traction is my only worry.
Since I only get 10-12mpg anyway one less wont matter

werd on that... the only reason i got my PI is because it was used a little and I got a deal on it.... I love my PI Vig 3200... it should match that cam perfectly

No **** Sherlock!
I'm pretty sure you can see what I'm saying about using the converter that FLT "recommends". At least I hope so....... Never said they made them.
Be a cheap ***. It will be your loss. As much money you have already spent over a few times, I don't understand that being expensive to you.
The PI TC will be the one I'll be using.
