Default So im on my 5th transmission..

Well i've had all i can take of the Jatco RE5R05A
over $20,000 bucks down the drain on the pos crap transmission in the last 2-3 years.. I'm totally prepared to step up to the 4L80E now and price is of no concern.. I want the biggest baddest trans that can possibly be made. If my truck is going to be down for 2 months getting the trans swap done, flexplate, adapter plates, made, and all the other fabrication needed I plan to yank the motor and do a stroker motor. and step up from a 5.6l to a 6 to 6.2L drop the compression slightly to 9.5:1 and put in forged internals and hopefuully push 18-20lbs of boost thru it. Might have to step up to a larger Garrett GT40202R to reach my goals of 950-1k rwhp but i'll worry about that when i get there..

so who build the baddest 4L80E?? Performabuilt or FLT??

discuss and please list why one is better than the other would like to hear personal experiences with both companies..

Not talking ****, but you do not even need the biggest baddest 4l80 to handle that HP.. A stock one with a shift kit, good cooler would prob do..

ur saying a stock 4l80e could handle 1250-1300 CRANK HP??

Remember I'm building a stroker motor and upping my boost to 20lbs at a minimum i want 950-1000rwhp

thier are VK-56's out there right now with twin turbo's with 40-46psi on stock crank and stock heads with over 1,500rwhp.. true they arent on the dragstrip but they are on sand rails out in arizona in the desert.. The VK56 motor is a badmofo

will have to check out his shop, i live maybe 20 miles from there, be nice if he could build my trans, and do the fabrication needed for the rear mount of the 4L80E, and source me a shop to do a lightweight driveshaft. mounting the trans to my motor is the easy part, menards engine development already has a "bolt-on kit" that includes new flywheel to use a chevy converter, ring gear for starter, new racing starter geared for chevy flywheel( he told me name of it but i forgot) and crank trigger, and some pin and last but not least the mounting adapter for the 4l80E to vk56.. all of that for $2,100 shipped

I'm just hoping my nissan ecu doesnt flip the **** out when it cant communicate with the nissan TCU,lol

I gotta ask, why so much money into something that you could be much faster in, like a GM truck. I'd give Gilbert a call since he's local and has a good reputation. Any idea how you're going to hook that much power in a 2wd extended cab truck?
