the issues many ppl have with the 6l80 and 6l90 is many tuners haven't learned how to properly learn how to tune them. You can not tune them like a typical 4 speed trans. There are tables that need adjusted and tables you don't mess with. Probably 2 of the best transmissions to be able to play with once you know what you are doing. The 6l90 in the Zl1 and CTSV are incredible where you don't even need a converter if you know what tables to play with.

well my 1st one was converter and electronics....now since yesterday the 2nd one seems like after cruising down the interstate and getting off a ramp behind a couple of trucks, when I let off the brake to ease forward it felt like maybe gear down shifted hard which it should have already been in 1st gear while I was setting there...runs great on the hiway but im very leary every time 1 of my trannys acts up it wont be long to replacement....this one has been flawless for say 15k miles and it was a new stock unit with converter...40k cooler runs 150 or lower all the time and hasn't been to a strip and only pulled a handful of trailers...just my damn luck

the 6spds usually don't go into 1st unless in a sport or tow haul mode. typical street driving they are usually in 2nd gear for starting and coming to a stop

I love the acceleration in tow/haul , but hate slowing down in T/H as it has a hard/abrupt down shift when coming to a stop at slow speeds , def needs some fine tuning to tweak her a bit .
Is this what your feeling Alton ?
Does your '11 with the TVS 1900 have a 6 speed and if so how is it doing ?
