Default Some Pictures and info on my 4 link

So i finally have had some time to post some pics of the 4 link I did up
http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4287001835

Parts list includes:
Bolt on 4 link from http://www.kpcomponents.com/
Strange 10way adjustable shocks 16'" these have solid spherical bearings
and are rebuildable
Coilover mounting kit ,single thick wall pipe and some pieces of 1/4'steel squares
Some thick wall mechanical 3/4" pipe
hypercoil springs 2.5" x14"with a 250lbs spring rate

I would say this job would have a skill level or maybe 8 out of 10
Steps taken
First you gotta get rid of the stock leafs and support the rear axle with some straps or wire rope
Removing the stock hangers for the leaf springs was a pain i the ***
as there air chisel wouldn't take the rivets off.So it was a torch job
and then use of a 5lb sledge was need to knock the rivets out
We then attached the front hangers that came from Kp and then moved to the rear u-bolts and hangers
the sit in the sock locations so it was pretty easy
Next we did some measuring on where we wanted the coilvers to sit on the axle Measure 3 times is what i did along with the shop the was helping me
We then fabbed up the top hangers and cross pipe for the coilovers
<something i got from the speed shop as a kit >
mounted the shock bolt tabs where we had decided
I ended up cuttin off one of the stock Shock mounts on the axle to get where i wanted to go
Then we Mocked up the plate to the frame rails and tacked in place untill we measured again
Then did the final weld up to the top and bottom shock hangers
Next Came the Panhard bar issue :
The 4 link kit was designed to be used with air bags so the panhard bar sat to far forward not allowing us to get a coilover in
So we ended up redoing the angle on the panhard bar
We had to push the bar further back towards the rear thus the trainbulated bracket we made out of some thick wall tubing
I ended up welding the bolt to the assembly as you can see in the pics
That was the hard part
after that was done a little paint and it was on the ground
all in all looks pretty good and is going to allow me to adjust the rear end fully in all angles
I haven't been able to take it for a ride yet as My truck is still waiting for my turbo parts from Combonation motors still .
I also need to get some pics of the entire setup finished with the spings
Sorry for the long post just lots to say I hope i covered it all in this post

Jim

Ive been wanting to do a 4-link w/ coilovers for awhile now. Too bad the pic isnt workin? Once you head to the track, or get on some twisty roads, let us know the difference in handling.

Did they offer help figuring spring rates? It looks like you need to check your pinion angle too,it looks to be very adjustable, that looks like the key to make everything work properly. Are the shocks adjustable?

Flyer No track time yet As I'm still waiting for the same Kit Parish8 has installed Funny how we order within a day of each other and i'm still sitting on my *** wating for my header stll.
In reagards to the Ajustabilty I can adjust everyting from ride hieght to side to side with the panhard and pinion angles aswell the Shocks are 10way adjustables

In terms of the spring weight i told them what the truck weighed in at and thr rear end was pretty light ..also told them that i would not be hauling around anything in the bed but some slicks and my jack

I'm going to have to go out and do some testing to get everything all settled in once i Get my turbo From Combonation motors that's about three weeks overdue
anyone have any tips on setting up a rear end like this ?
