Question Somebody care to verify a number on a L80e for me

I have a 80e that I was told came out of a 98 or 99 van.. Def is a 80, but can somebody verify if it is that year. What needs to be done to slap this in my truck, after I have it built?? Pretty sure it is a strait swap..Thanks..

Lemme tell ya the next step.

It needs to be brought to me, after it's built, of course.

I wish ya had a VIN, that I could help ya on, like how some yards do. You know, they use tiny lil wire wrapped thru a hole on a small 2" x 4" card, as a yard locator for more parts. Or they tie a stock #, which correlates to a VIN. However, I'm guessing yours isn't from a yard.

does it have a top bolt hole? 12 O clock position

The swap consists of wiring another VSS, swapping a few wires in the harness, crossmember and fixing the DS

What does the little metal tag on the passenger side say? IIRC there should be a big tag and a small one. The first two letters on the small one is your year. . .

John that number you posted is just a casting number for the case. It really does not mean much. Take some pic's of what you got and post them. As mentioned there should be a metal tag but it will be on the passenger side of the case. Vince

juan...as long as it has the correct bellhousing bolt holes you should be fine. the newer ones (98-up iirc) have the trans cooler line ports in similar positions to that of the 60e.

on pre 04/05 i think have a weaker sprag than 05 up. something to upgrade during build.

my 80e has be awesome...05 2500hd donor. cryo treated internals and art carr (california performance transmissions) shift kit/soft parts.

Are you kidding me John? Of course I'm still building units and unless I win the lotto I plan on doing them for many years to come. Vince
