Sonnax Performance vs Transgo HD-2 shift kit
I've been reading about the new Sonnax Performance Pack with servos and it sounds pretty good. Has anyone installed this in a 4L70E and how does it shift? I only plan on doing bolt-ons and maybe a small cam, will this help my trans or should I just get a FLT level 5 or 7.

The Sonnax Performance Pack is fully compatible with the 4L70 as are both Sonnax servos 77911-03K (2nd) & 77767K (4th). These will definitely help your trans hold up to any increased power from bolt on mods and the ensuing thrashing. The Performance Pack will not leave you disappointed. It has been out for about two years but mainly available just to transmission shops, DIYers have been slower to catch on so I have pulled together some recent user comments. . .

Has anyone tried the new Sonnax Hi Performance VB Kit? Without sounding like a advertisement, I describe it as " WOW". We installed the complete kit along with a bunch of other Sonnax HiPo goodies into a 2006 GMC 1500 4x4 with a 5.3L with a Supercharger that runs fantastic. The shifts are the most responsive to throttle & HP that I've ever seen. My Hat's Off to the guys at Sonnax! JMO

For feedback on the servos in the 4L70E, you may want to check around on some TBSS forums as I know this has been covered there. Below are a couple of threads I dug up. Keep in mind that on the forums many of the comments lump all “billet servos” and “performance kits” together without knowing the significant differences among them. The Sonnax 2nd servo is larger than the Corvette (and 4L70) 2nd servo, but does not eliminate the cushion springs and keeps the hydraulic release into 3rd functional for better apply and greater all around drivability which is not the case with some other billet servos.
