Default spacer or axel tube extension?

so i really did it this time. i picked up a 14 bolt sf a couple weeks ago from a obs 2wd 2500, thinking it would bolt right up to my 4wd 1500, only to find out that its 3 inches narrower than what i need. the way i see it, i can go the quick and easy way and get 1.5 spacers, or have the tubes extended, which seems like it would be expensive. any thoughts? i plan on towing another full size truck with it so strength is key.

i also found one in SD from a 4wd i can get, i just need to sell the one i have. so if anyone's interested, pm me.

Retubing the axle mean longer shafts as well so keep that in mind..

There have been several that swapped 14b's in on here so maybe one will chime in as to what axle you really need...

turns out the place that had the 4x4 14 bolt ended up being a 2wd anyways. looks like wheel spacers it is.
