Default Spline problems

I have a FLT level 5 80e. It was built for an 01 GMC C3 which is all wheel drive. I was trying to put it into my 01 1500 HD 4x4 and the splines on tail shaft are different. The stock 80 has a 32 spline and the FLT has a 28 I believe. Is there any way to change the input shaft in the trasfer case to match the smaller or do I have to get tranny redone? Also, there is a speed sensor in the FLT that is on my transfer case instead of trans housing. Could someone please help???

Have you called Vince or Chuck? If I know them, they'll take care of you.

They are closed today and with it being the new year I figured they would be closed until the middle of next week, but I'm going to call as soon as I can. Put stock trans back for now

you have to take the trans apart to swap out the output shaft. you could swap input shafts on you t-case but it would only make it a weak point. it would be the like the reverse of this https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=368971 i think you would stay with the speed sensor on the t-case if you stock 80e doesn't have the sensor.

Obviously the trans is wrong for your application. As stated either the input gear on the transfer case needs to be changed or the output shaft needs to be swapped. We will be back in the shop on Monday closed Tuesday I believe. Give Chuck a call on Monday to figure out what would be your best course of action. I myself would want to use the factory shaft in the trans because of the fact it in theory has more material and should be stronger. Vince

Thanks Vince
I was going to call you guys after the new year. I was just trying to get truck back on the road yesterday. I figured the t-case would be the quick fix. There are also some other things I needed to ask about so, I'll give you guys a call Monday.
