Spring spacers? safe?
I am considering throwing a 1 1/4 inch spring spacer on the front for some better clearance with my 31.6 inch tires. I live in a town full of huge dips, bumps, potholes, and ruts... so whenever I hit some of them, the tire hits the top of the fender and is pretty loud! I like the slightly taller look and sometimes do go off-road (at my ranch or for work), so they do have a practical application for me.
Has anyone installed spring spacers on their truck before? They offer 2 inch and 1.25 inch spacers, so I figured the 1.25's would be a lot safer. I've heard rumours that the front suspension can collapse while driving with these on, but I've never been able to verify this. Any help would be awesome... thanks yall!
Here are the websites I am looking at:
