Default SSBC Rotors and Pads

Anybody running this kit?

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I am not looking to spend much more than this and it wont be for extreme performance. I am just wondering how these things hold up for DD use and maybe a little abuse.

Also interested in doing the Russell's 5 hose lines....

Any thoughts or advice?

Thanks!

Going thru the same debate and looking at Baer, Wilwood...etc. SSBC price is hard to beat, but I really want to be able to drive more aggressively on country roads and dunno how that kits does. I did powerslots and hawk pads, with braided lines a while ago...good upgrade, but far from what I need. R/

the powerslots and hawk pads was a major letdown to me as far as performance was concerned, the rotors looked great... but the stopping power was pretty much comperable to stock... I was highly dissapointed with that mod on my previous truck.

That SSBC ShortStop kit is nice, creederado used to have it on both of his trucks and was very happy with it. I really want the SSBC 14" front and rear rotor kit someday (3 or 4 piston calipers I believe?)...

Ya... I have heard mixed opinions on Powerslots and Hawk pads, that was why I was looking for the SSBCs and like the price of this particular kit.

What I want to know is how does it stack up vs Willwood's 6 piston or some of the others? Prob won't matter if u spend all ur time at the strip, but if u wanna do more autoX or high speed country roads...

I'm not gonna disagree...shuda put the cash towards a proper system. I have been told in another post that u shud do "brake bleed relearn" proceedure after working on ur brakes tho using the Tech II to bleed the ABS module. Supposed to make a huge diff...that could be why I never saw a material change in stopping power...R/

we bleed the brakes, didn't do anything with the module though, that could have been the issue for sure... I was very unimpressed with it, but hey, I needed new brakes, and it worked just as good as stock stuff for about the same cost so it was fine with me! next time I will truly upgrade to a better system. damn 08 has drums in the back...wtf?
