most everyone will tell to go with either a Precision Industries converter or a Yank... the best two out there IMO... STAY AWAY FROM TCI!!!!!

a 2800-3000 stall speed should do you well judging by the other threads you've put up on the topic.

Yank and Vig are the two most pop choices. Vig are costly but I have never heard a complaint. Yank is what I run and they offer affordable converters as well as the more pricey billet ones.

I suggest you think about how far you might go with your truck. I'm on my 3rd. converter because I didnt think I would take my truck this direction (i knew).

I have the SC2800
The difference between the TT and the SC is about $400. The SC is billet and is designed to take the abuse from a SuperCharger. STR is higher on the SC model.

More discs = better more $$
STR = stall torque ratio, the ratio that torque is multiplied to the trans.

Right, most compare the Vigs to the Yanks TT line and that's not quite fair in my opinion. The TT line are good affordable converters but Yank does offer converters compareable to the Vigs (like the SC line) in ev$ry way.

what would be a better stall converter for a 402 stroker(N/A) a 10.5" 3-disc lock-up or a 9.5" 5-disc lock-up converter

also what makes more discs better?
