A couple of friends make it easier. I didnt need anything special. Just drop the tranny, Its easier to pull the t-case off for instalation, but the two top bolts will be a PITA.

I think you use trans fluid for the case.

I have a 3" body lift on my truck and I didn't even seperate the tranny and transfer case. I was able to remove the tranny crossmember and push them back far enough to get the torque converter out. I didn't even remove my cat y-pipe! If you have any questions let me know! The body lift helps a ton!!!

You will need the new gasket between the trans and transfer case they always tear.

I don't remeber a gasket between the transfer case and trans,
I'd also just keep the trans and transfer case in one piece, but that is me and I also have a cheap trans jack. I don't think I'd like pulling it with a floor jack.

There is a rubber o-ring betweent he t-case and the trans tailhousing I have reomved my trans 3 times and have never torn it you just have to be gentle. The t-case takes GM autotrac blue fluid NOTHING else and you can only get it from the dealership. Its like 8 bucks a bottle you need 2. You will need to seperate th t-case fromteh trans if you pull it out its alot easier and if this is oging to be done off a lift that is the ONLY way I would do it. With the boddy lift you may be able to slide it back the top two bolts will be cake with 3 extra inches of clearance. No specail tools are needed but you may want atleast 2 foot of extensions for those top boltsto make it easier. Make sure you get the converter all the way in and DO NOT force the trans into place you will break the pump rotor.

me and some friends have installed 3-4 converters in fbodies so we have some experience. I just wasnt aware how different the trucks were under there compared to the fbodies. Hopefully like ya'll said we can get it out in one peice. I guess Ill order the gasket just in case..
