stall issues
Since I had my transmission out a couple weeks ago I decided it was time to put a stall in it, well I went with a Precision Industires 3800 Triple Disc lock-up converter. I brought it the the track this past wednesday and was highly disapointed, the converter doesnt even flash or brake stall any more than stock from a dead stop, but from a low mph roll it will flash to 4k rpm. Why will this thing not flash or brake stall???? Anybody think its my tune, I have two buddies with TCI3000's that feel way better than mine does. I have no clue as to whats up, I really am trying to avoid switching stalls out And just for the record......
Stock Stall:
Best N/A = 13.43 @ 100mph
Best N20 = 12.50 @ 112mph
3800 Stall:
Best N/A = 14.1 @ 97mph
Best N20 = 12.9 @ 106mph

DOH!
I was thinking I was the only one with this problem
I talked to Vicky (great customer service) and she is having a new one made for me. Hopefully this will fix the problem.

Do you guys have ALL the torque management, launch control, and all teh TM'like tables disabled in the PCM??
TM'like tables play havoc with higher stall TC's. If the engine pulls the timing down to like -16 degrees the engine isnt going to make enough torque to reach a high stall speed.
Nelson is doing excellent things with the LQ4 engines, he is finding 54 hp and 50 lb/ft on the engine dyno with TIMING alone. Couple that 50 hp to having all the TM'like tables which limit the engines ability to make power, you are looking at some serious performace gains.
The newer PCM's have more and more of these tables that limit engin etiming.
