Don't have any experience with the Circle D but the Yank is a really tight converter; but it will flash like its supposed to. Its a good DD unit.

Actually they are, and that's direct from Chris @ CircleD.

by reworked do you mean they start with the shell of the TB stall?

I dont know the details as to what all is done to them, but they start their life as a TB stall.

The stock TBSS has a 300MM converter ~12"
The stock TB I6 has a 278MM converter ~11"

When we make a performance converter, we have to start with something from a stock vehicle. It would get very expensive to design completely from scratch. We sell a modified 278MM for the LS style 4L60/65/70. We do some internal design changes and make things stronger.

On a side note. Here are some other converter diameters and their source.

265MM - 10.5" - 4T80E - Cadillac Northstar
258MM - 10.25" - 4T65E - GM FWD Higher Power cars.
245MM - 9.75" - 4T60E - GM FWD Cars

So the internals in both the Yank and Circle D converters mentioned are probably about the same? Except for one is a little less expensive?
