Default stock 165k tranny advice.

i have a completely stock 4l60e (engine mods in sig). and no money for an flt or anything like that. i have been sitting on a transgo shift kit and vett servo for a year. im sick of the the shitty shifts, but i'm afraid it will explode due to the high miles. i also plan on tt3000 when i can afford it.

what should i do?

save, wait till it goes cause it wont be long, and then do a nice rebuild and then use the shift kit and do a stall at the same time. It sucks pulling the trans, so only do it one time and be done.

+1 on saving up, personally I would save up and buy either an FLT or performabuilt, both great products

Hell it might not make it out of the drive way if it hears you even mention any modifications. SHHHH.... be very quite. Save the parts for next week and the new transmission

My trans went with less than 60K and mods in sig, tdrumm's trans went within 1 mile of a TT3000 install (already had cam/heads/efans/tune/lt's/etc.)...he had a vette servo only...needless to say, I'm not a fan of the stock 60E

well god dammit guys i think jinksed myself. kysilverado was right i opened my mouth and the transmission started acting up today for the first time. i was driving allong nice and easy and it seemed like it was waiting toolong to shift, they it seemed to slip. so i got on it through first to see if it would slipp it diddn't seem to but then it started hitting the rev limiter gave me a nice na na na. so i knew something was wrong, i put cruse control on at about 65mph then it seemed like the revs were jumping, like it was shifting back and fourth from 3rd to 4th. i got one week to get this taken care of. school starts the 20th and i have to drive frome laporte to UofH just about every day.
