GU6 3:42
GT4 3:73
GT5 4:10
Most likely a 3:42 those seem to be pretty standard for that year range but double check the little code sheet in the glove box.

well initially i was just going to leave it stock but i just caint lol i have had several people say do the gear swap first. im also thinking of a boosting 4.8 or the infamous 6.0 swap not sure where to go on that either. im totally new to the make your truck go fast thing and not sure where to start..it will be my DD but i want it to sound serious and run just as good i dont need to break any land speed records but a fun day at the track and then drive it home would be cool.

Mine is a GT4/G80. I'm fairly sure I'll keep the 3.73's and just get a value trac to go with it. I've heard it's not a noticeable difference between 3.73's and 4.10's.

Like 1 Fast Brick said. Depends ultimately on what your goal is. I agree there's very little difference between 3.73 and 4.10. I have 2 sets of 3.73's that just came out of my COPO 2000 Silverado to make room for 4.56's. It also had the G80 locker from the factory. Gears can be had at a reasonable price if you decide your're interested.
