Default Stock motor with stall?

Would it hurt to put a stall in a mildly built trans? My old man just bought a mild 60E for his 96 silverado and he pulls a 20' car hauler sometimes hauling vehicles but for the most part he doesn't pull anything. Oh and the motor is stock right now but he plans to pull it and cam it.

I did a stall in mine when it had nothing but exhaust and a cold air. However the 5.3's make their torque higher up than the 5.7s. In his case I would try and figure out which cam I was going to run first, and buy stall accordingly.

If it is a 5.7 I would do a lot of looking around. From what I understand they don't need much more if any stall then stock.

If a 5.3 then yes you would want a mild stall! I am pretty sure it should be 5.7 but just wanted to make this point.

It is the 5.7 w/3.42 gears I believe and new mildly built 60E. I'm sure he's not going to want a big cam like I have but a little something.

I am pretty sure you will want a small stall if not stock. Hopefully one of the OBS guys will chime in but if I remember correctly a smaller cam will work best with a 2400 or less stall.
