I'd assume because he likes to off road and a SFA is way better off road than IFS. Fabritech is the only company I know of that makes a kit, but it's only the front and you supply the axle. I'd check out FullsizeChevy.com...it's more of an off road orientated site than this one. One member, Dark Eternal, has a SFA on his '01 Z71, he could help you out...plus alot of other info if you search.

offroad unlimited is another one but rip u off hardcore, actually dark eternal was looking into building some kits himself, so you might wanna ask him on FSC about that..ur not alone I want to put a SFA under my truck, in fact im not ever gonna touch my suspension untill that mod....now if i could only find a dana 50 or 60 driver side diff resonably priced id be all over it.

Default conv.

The lowest price I've seen is $7500 and have seen up to $10,000!
I would love to have this as well. The most expensive part for this is the axle from ORU pricesd at $4300. If you had your own axle you could do it yourself for under $5000.

thats the problem...ur going through ORU, these guys are kings at jacking up the price....proabaly because they can build anything ur imagination can think up, but they put that fab price on everything have/sell, have name on...its crazy, i mean you can get nice dana 60 fronts, for about 1300 ( and thats freaking expsemsive ) thats for really nice complete hub to hub...if you really wanted it could be done under 3k, maybe 4k if u add lockers/ new gears for both front and rear. doing it ur self, im fairly good working with soild axles, been playing with them for years on my old blazer, things are pretty simple. and shouldnt be hard to bolt on the mounts and and hange the thing.

I want to do a solid axle conversion in my truck too, with a 4 link and sitting on air bags, but offroad unlimited is way over priced. I also can't find a 4 link and all the steer components, does anybody no where I can find thoughs.
