Default Stupid 4l60e ( Long story ) Pleae help

Vin from donor truck 1GNEC13Z02R126572 ( So its not a 4x4 and its not out of a avalanche its out of a tahoe, junk yard had told me otherwise)
OPSYS:12216125

So everyone pretty much knows that i haven't been able to drive my truck since the swap because my tranny has been

acting up. started off in limp mode and i would have to shift to second, checked the solenoids A&B both were good,

replaced filter added oil, same ****. Haven't started my truck in about a week and now i don't have any gears, it won't

go into RND321. If anyone has any ideas on what it could be please help.

I know i'm not getting any power to it but i don't know how i could check. I doubt its my ignition switch because it was

working fine before the swap! and plus i heard that if stuff dims on your cluster, its a symptom that your switch is

failing. idk thats something i read on some page IGN0 Fuse is fine and none of my fuses are popped

I saw that my friend didn't put the ground strap on the bell housing, so ill be doing that right now. (would it really

matter that much?) Because remember, i drove it in limp mode and now it won't go into any gears.

Any advice would be appreciated, around 1pm today if no one has any ideas or suggestions ill be removing the

transmission and probably try to do a rebuild myself. Most transmission shops will charge me about 1300 just to clean

the valve body and the pump, Fk that I can get a trans from our sponsors for around 1800-2000. I don't wanna make

that investment yet cause i'm broke but i really really need my truck running -_-. I'm getting really frustrated with this

stupid trans problem, could it be my torque converter? IDk!!!!!

Ill probably be following a youtube video of a 4l60e rebuild on the driveway lol!

Uhm that missing ground is an issue. You've been told in a few threads to check all your grounds.

When you say it won't go in those gears you mean you can physically move the gear selector but the trans won't do anything right?? Can you hear the park awl pop out?? I had the bolt that holds the shift cable to the side of the tranny arm come loose and fall completely off ... I thought I snapped the cable at first. Check that ...

I rebuilt my 4L60E in my garage with hand tools, I have pics and a parts list if you are interested. Is wasn't too difficult, patience and an eye for detail is all it really takes.

Several things come to mind, but one thing I have seen is the bypass valve for the pump can get hung open causing zero pressure which would cause the no gear issue. The same problem happens in the GEN 3 and 4 oil pump assemblies for the engine which you see often on these forums. Try putting a mech gauge on the 1/8 NPT port above the shift lever on the case and then start the truck to see if the pump is building any pressure. The good news is you can drop the pan to get to the valve but the bad news is something caused the valve to get stuck you may have something in the unit failing which is sending material throughout the unit.

If you unplug the big grey connector at the trans , this should defult it into 3rd gear . so If you do this and there is still no gears then you need a rebuild.

Hopefully it isn't anything too too expensive :/

Or just pop a line of the trans cooler to see if its moving any fluid at all before worrying about the pressures too much

Okay so i just took my truck to a trans place a friend recommended. The guy will drop the trans and check my wiring harness. He said that when you go to v6 to v8 you have to do something to the wiring harness so that you can send 12v to the solenoids.

He also said that more than likely my pump is broken because i told him that i would drive in limp mode, he said that when in limp mode the line pressure is at max.
He also said i might need to replace my torque converter, which is a good thing because i wanted to get a higher stall anyways.

My truck should hopefully be out by this weekend If it is ill see if i can get a one leg burnout
