suspension drop ?s
Need help with 3 different trucks....
1989 swb chevy. This truck has been dropped using dropped shackles only. The rear is extremely stiff I can jump on the bed and it doesn't budge. I just changed the shocks it didn't help. What do I need to do with it?
1985swb chevy. I have a flip kit, shackles and hanger. I was curious which shocks I should use? I got some nitro shocks and I don't know if they're the best.
2003 swb gmc. I used 2inch lowering shackles and I know its going to be different heights from left to right, but my passenger side is 1 5/8inches higher then the driverside.???

For the 2003 GMC, what you're describing is a common "problem" with the '99-'06 GM 1/2 ton trucks. It's usually called "Chevy lean". Do a search on this. For some reason, the trucks are slightly lower on the driver's side from the factory. Most people say it's due to the total weight of the battery, gas tank, and steering column assembly together. GM has issued technical bulletins for this and the fix has been a coil spring spacer. It just seems more apparent now since the truck is lower in the rear.
For the 1989 truck, maybe loosen the bolts and re-tighten them again. Did you tighten the bolts before or after the truck was back on the ground? Always tighten suspension parts when the vehicle is back on the ground and supporting its own weight.
