Default Suspension hell on the back, options?

My suspension has always been rough due to the JGP shocks that came on it. It rides rougher than c5 vette with runflats and a z51 suspension. Ever since I put the Hotchkis rear sway bar on it has become almost unbearable on rough roads. I loosened up my caltracs so I have .250-.375" gap and it helped very little.
Anyone with my similar set-up have a good shock to recommend rather than the stock mushy one's. Something that will handle well, yet descent ride quality?
I've read Edelbrocks to be good but what kind of good?

I have caltracs set with no preload and Doesch tech shocks. Mine rides rough as hell on the rear. Damn rear end will jump around and even unload the rear tires at times. I think it's mostly from the lack of weight over the rear tires. I can carry a load and it rides alot better.

Get you some QA-1s. You can adjust em however you want them to ride.

I am with Randy... I have the Hotchkis leafs, swaybar and DT shocks and it is pretty stiff out back and the shocks up front are toast so it is squishy. Talk about a bad ride with a bouncy front and stiff rear. I am looking into either the Edelbrocks, Bilstiens or some sort of adjustable (ie. QA1, Rancho, VaraShock, etc...) I am just having a hard time swallowing $800-1000 for a set of adjustables.

Agreed! I just switched from the Toxic's to the Edelbrocks and love them!

Same here. I really wish I could find something. I hate the way my truck handles/rides.

just threw some bilstein hds in the truck. i loved them in my f bod but they might be a little too stiff for the truck. on smooth road it handles amazingly but when it gets rough, i just dont think there is any way to win. short wheelbase and stiff springs
