I would try 2.5 to 3 turns. Make sure to drive it around before checking the height, it needs to settle after you adjust the bolts.

 

Loosened bolts 3 turns each but was still not level. Not sure if it hurt anything but I went ahead and made 1 more turn on each one and now its perfectly level. It seemed fine when I drove it. Making that many turns does it hurt anything?

 

If it rides fine it's OK. when I lowered the front of my work truck I backed the adjester bolts out so it's barely sticking through the crossmember. That has 25000 ago with no problems.

 

explain to me the bolts. I see they thread into the cross member but I also see after the pass thru the cross member they run up into a hole or opening in I guess the torsion key, is this right? Mine still look to be thru the cross member and up into the key

 

You will be fine. The only time the bolts are too loose is when there is play between the adjustment cam and the bolt when there is no load on the front wheels.

 

The end of the bolt is rounded and rides in a socket on the adjustment cam.

 

I also noticed up front Im riding on the bumpstops pretty hard. Would it be ok to cut a nub off of each one?

 

That should be ok for now. You can take them out and get the shorter urethane stops.

Yea you'll want to trim them down a bit, they should just touch the lower control arm at rest.

 

well, I trimmed too much then. I trimmed to where I had a fingers with between stop and lower control arm. Will that hurt anything?
