Default Suspension upgrades for the Z71...

Another subject I know very little about.

What are my options for upgrading my Z71's suspension while maintaing the stock ride height? I would consider a drop in the rear to lvl everything out. I'm basically looking to improve handling and hard 4WD launches without a drop and compromising too much of my towing capacity.

Thanks again gents!

well if you jack up the torsion bar keys in the front, it will level it out, as for others you can probably do sway bars, and new shocks, but i'm not too sure

Ureathane bushings are supposed to keep your suspension geometery in better order, but I've heard they can make the ride harsher. The z71's don't have sway bars, I'm assuming its becasue they cripple you off road. I kinda wish they had at least a rear one though. Some new truck or suv is coming out with a sway bar that automatically disscounects for more suspension articulation, can't remember at the moment.

The Dodge Power Wagon will have anti-sway bars you can disconnect

Z71's do have front sway bars, but no rears.

Looks like any other sway bar out there pretty much. Long straight round rod that connects from control arm to control arm. As far as I know, they've always put on front sway bars. My 95' and 98' had them too. You should have one as well.

TX Tahoe, quick question, do you park your truck in a garage? If so how much clearance do you have. my burb is close, and i will be doing the torsion bar lift to make it even like yours and i was just curious on height. Sorry to jack the thread.
