After doing some research, I really like the looks of the Hellwig bars, nice looking finish and hardware with them. I don't really want to move my tailpipe though, so I'll probably try and track down a SUV rear bar at a salvage yard...

Well, after doing some searching, it appears that Belltech makes a sway bar that mounts toward the front instead of the rear, and won't interfere with my tailpipe. Think that I'll go this route when I get the scratch, and maybe get some poly bushings for the front It says 2wd kit, but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work on my lowered 4x4...

I'm running the stocker up front and the Hotchkis in the rear. Definitely an improvement! The truck corners much better now. I put the sway bar in before I did my springs so it was even better after the front and rear spring swap. I drove a buddy't truck with a Belltech kit and it was very nice.

I don't see how a SUV bar will clear your exhaust better than a forward mounting truck bar. I have attached some pics of the Helwig bar on the Tahoe and the Hotchkis bar on the truck which has zero clearance issues with my 4" exhaust.

Sway bars are basically long torsion bars between the two sides of your suspension to help keep your truck better planted in turns. Many have also reported a more stable feeling on the highway during high cross-winds, trailering, etc.

If you're lowered, expect the rear sway bar to affect the ride quality. At least it did on my NBS crew cab lowered 4/6. I had an addco bar that I had to take off as it made the rear ride really rough.

I would suggest the Hotchkis bars. You won't have any clearance issues with them as they also mount forward. I think they are a class operation both in product and service. Great to deal with! They also have different length end links if you are dropped. Quality hardware too with greasable bushings.
