Default Switching from strap style to U bolt style

I dont know about some of you, but after losing a driveshaft or two, a few U joints, and some serious abuse, my U joint straps are toast. I noticed a lot of the heavier duty rearends are going with U bolt style straps. I'd like to do the same thing, just with the stock style yoke... How would I go about it?

Drill out the bolt holes big enough to accept the U bolts?

Or just replace the straps with some fresh ones and shut up about it.

never seen em

Well two new ones from the dealership is like $20 or maybe a little less... and two new U bolts and some lock nuts would be about the same price. The only difference being I'd have to drill the yoke for the U bolts to go through. That may be the most difficult part. I know the yokes material is HARD... I'd probably have to have a badass bit to get a good straight hole through it.
