Default t-56 swap

been thinking about doing a t-56 swap on my 04 rcsb with lq9 and p1sc...
i have heard about our trucks being way to heavy for a t-56 tough.
i know the rcsb srt 10 trucks have the t-56, do they have any problems with it?

i was looking at a few but im not sure what to go with....

Hurst Driveline Conversions TUET11012 Hurst Driveline T-56 6-Speed Transmissions

Finish Line Transmissions | Performance Transmissions | Torque Converters | Transmission Parts | Transmission Service

TREMEC LS SERIES MAGNUM T-56 WITH BELLHOUSING 700FT LBS | eBay

any info would be great. Thanks guys.

keep the auto IMO much more reliable goin manual means broken parts cause theres alot more strain on the driveline and your goin to need atleast 4.56 gears.

Our trucks are too heavy for a stock 4L60e, it would be no surprise that the same might apply for a T56. But like the 60e, they can be upgraded.

Well you should be good then since you already have 4.56s one other thing I heard that the T-56 in GTOs have a better gear spacing then the f-bodys

Not a big deal in a RCSB. Get one from a GTO, they're ratios are more truck friendly (pretty damn close to a 60e). I'd use a forward mounted shifter. Gonna need a tougher clutch.

I've been researching the swap too. Looks like the fbodies have a 2.66 1st, the gto's have a 2.97 first. if you find one from an ssr it has a 3.0x first, but they seem to be a lot more difficult to find. Should make the truck a lot more fun to drive regardless
