Default T-case chain questions

I'm going to tear the 149 apart today to check chain slack. I'm pretty sure it's bad. It's the only thing I can think of to make the fast tick/pop noise under hard throttle. Question is how much slack can there be and where can I get a new chain. Also do they make ones that don't stretch so easy.

When I first got this case it did this. I put in a chain from a auto trac case. Dangling from my finger the auto tracs chain hung about an inch shorter. Same part number. But now it's doing it again. So I'd like a stronger chain.

We get chains for these things from Whatever it takes transmission parts. Chances are if its skipping then the gears where the chain rides on are junk. Also worn gears can make noise and also wear out a chain prematurely IMO. Vince

Well when I swapped chains I swapped gears from the same case. All 4 gears looked good but I put In the best of the two. I wish hd gears and chain would fit. That would be sweet. They are wider than the 1500 chains and gears.
