Default T56 to 5 Speed

I decided to go back to the 5 speed (nv 3500) and selling my built t56 because I prefer how the 5 speed drives and i dont like how it sits way back. i want to get a 6.0 instead of the 4.8 but i dont if the 5 speed would hold it with the turbo. i never beat the truck!

it wont hold it. the nv 3500 is pretty weak, especially compared to the t56

You will have troubles shifting into gears at high rpms, with the nv3500. it will suck

You know, I'd like to know who the ding dong is who started the rumor that the NV3500 is weak. Christ almighty i've been doing burnouts, drifting in parking lots, drag racing and towing boats with 400 RWTQ no problem. My NV3500 is holding up terrific.

Maybe it's the fact that GM stopped putting them behind 5.3s

i don't believe the nv3500 was ever offered w/ 5.3. the nv 3500 has been around for a long time and i have never heard any stories of them breaking. its rated around 300ft lbs. t 56 is stronger, but still only rated at 350 ft lbs stock. guys push t 56 500+. i'd like to see what a nv3500 could be pushed to. i launch 3500 rpm on slicks on stock clutch. btw if i already had a t56 i wouldn't put a nv3500 in.

i think your right. i'd say they didn't continue to put it behind the 5.3 because of sales numbers more than strengh. 5 speed isn't to popular. do they even offer the nv3500 w/ 4.8 anymore? i don't think they do.
