Default Tahoe Front End Too Low! bottoms out!

I have an 04' Tahoe with 40K miles and I cannot understand why the front in is constantly bottoming out. My bump stops are already wore over half way down from the previous owner installing lowering keys and setting them too low. After I purchased the tahoe I put the stock keys back on and used 2" lowering spindles instead along with brand new Beltech nitro drop 2 shocks. Problem is that I have the torsion bars maxed out all the way up with the stock keys and I am wondering why I am still setting so low in the front end? I have attached a picture of where the wore down bump stop sets at rest in conjunction with the LCA. Could I really have torsion bar sag at 40K miles? What are your thoughts? Just trying to get at bare minimum stock ride quality or even better if possible?

Those bump stops look to have been cut down by the previous owner.

Buy some new ones from the dealer and install them uncut. Set your ride height where you want it. The arms will be against the stops. This is normal, the stops are a working part of the front suspension. That should give you back a factory ride quality.

BTW, if you have a heavy wheel/tire package, it will ride harsher.

Anyone know how to change out the front stops? Any other thoughts on this?

get the bumpers from the dealership, part # 15153958. The bumpers are indeed an active part of the suspension & are supposed to touch the lower control arm at all times. The way you are now, when you hit a bump, the control arm slams against it & compresses it enough that the control arm hits the bumper cup, thus causing a loud bang that you hear & feel. When you put the new bumpers on & take a ride, you'll think you have a new truck. Here's a pretty good thread about drilling them for a better ride:
http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/to...ooth-out-ride/

To get the bumpers out, stick a screwdriver in the cup & pry them out.

The bumpers are like $13 each from GM parts direct.

BTW, when I put new bumpers in my truck about a month ago, iI cut off the first nub & it still lifted the front at least 1/2". That's McGaughy's spindles & keys fully decranked up front. Doesn't matter to me, I just add some more air to my helper bags in the rear to keep the Texas rake.

I just finished putting new bump stops in and WOW! The difference was amazing. The ride quality finally meets my expectations! Also, that was a very good call b4wannabe. If there is anyone else out there with similar problems to me then this is definitely worth checking out. Having the full length rubber stops versus my cut ones is awesome.

Contrastingly, my ride was too bouncy, and I cut the bump stops (similar to your picture in the first post) and it solved the problem. However this was not with stock shocks, but with Bilstein HD's and now Edelbrock IAS shocks, and I am also at stock ride height.
