It doesn't matter if the pattern is more towards the toe (ID of the ring) or the heel (OD of the ring) as long as the pattern is centered from root to crown.
If you go to randysringandpinion.com and download their Yukon Gear Installation Manual, it will say this very thing.

Well It's been retuned and wow what a difference I'm so ready to put my foot into it...But Like axisT6 said 500 miles first 500 miles hurry up and getr here...But you can feel the push from them and the firmer shifting

brian i may be calling for you to do my dads rear end on his 34 coupe. he wants to put a granny gear in it haha. he will let you use his garage and tools. i know how you like his garage and all hahaha. someday we will have crap like that
