TH400 swap in to 06 rcsb 4l60 truck
Just wondering if you guys have done it and how to make the reverse lights and stuff work, And all the tricks like how to make it where it wont start in gear etc... etc... maybe a speedo too
truck has the 4l60e with the long shaft on the side with the sensor on the side, i have put these trans in ls1 camaros and stuff but they get most of thier status from the shift gate rather than from the little box on the trans
input please.

For the speedo you need a converter box that takes the cable output and makes it an electrical pulse.
For the reverse lights and lockout for ignition start the easiest route is go with an aftermarket shifter. If you are intent on keeping the stock column shift you could modify the cable shifter and possibly keep the black box in between the cable and input on the trans (the trans would not use it, but the PCM would read the position and lockout ignition start in gear and light up the reverse lights), the TH400 detent lever is different, but could be lenthened or the 4L60E shaft might actually swap out, would be a fun thing to try.

You don't need a converter box for a cable speedo. Just get a tailshaft/reluctor ring and VSS off of a 88-newer TH400. Take the tailshaft out and have the reluctor ring pressed on and swap the housings. You'll need to edit the tune so the pulses per mile reads probably since the number of teeth on the Th400 reluctor is different from the 60E. Use a 5spd crossmember with a 1" spacer. Your DS will need to be modified and there are a few LSX to TH400/350 flexplate/spacer kits out there.

as far as the flexplate spacer goes, i wont need it because yank is building a 4l60e front/TH400 back converter that uses my stock flywheel, the crossmember is what i was wondering about, an i think i will be grabbin a front wheel speed sensor for the speedo, just need input on it.

Im not sure if you can do this, but when i did my th350 swap in my old 98 fbody i researched on tech and there was a way to tie into one of the wheel speed sensors to get the speedo working, but i believe you lose ABS. Might be another option to look at.
