Default are their any 80E don'ts?

like the 60E doesn't like the 4-2 kick down or can you do anything with an 80E?

manual down shifts, especially 3-2 are hard on them.

Ive heard brake boosting with it in "3" isnt good.....makes something explode lol

so if you cant down shift to 3rd or 2nd then whats the point?

why would tranny builders offer them in a manual?

are we talkin just the factory internals?

He means pulling the lever down from "3" to "2" manually instead of letting the computer downshift it.

only complaint i have is the converter comes unlocked when you completely let off the throttle. it doesent bother me at all since you can just let off and know it will kick down a gear and not be locked when you got wot .

Mine does the same thing! Tuner said it wasn't a tune issue, it's the way the 80 is......

I honestly do not believe this to be true. If anything I would think that it would help. Reason being is over run clutch is applied in all gears applied in the D3 range helping out the OD roller. In the OD range the over run clutch is not used and only the roller is holding. With that being said I would think that the OD roller is weakened if being loaded hard in the OD range. HTH Vince
