Default Think I may have dodged a bullet....

On my way home from a friends house and as soon as i pull on the highway I hear clank-clank. I said oh ****, so i get home look at the chunk cover and sure enough it has big indentions in it and is dripping from a small hole. So i pulled the cover off and thank god no teeth are gone that i can see and the only problem seems to be the ring bolts have backed about half way out and there is one that is sheared in half.

Oh yeh they were torqued right. Iv had the tru-trac in for a few months without any problems. I watched the whole time and he torqued them right and put red locktite on them. Been doin some research and I think its from housing distortion. Im about to order a ta girdle and some arp bolts.

I don't know what to tell ya, except that a friend of mine had a mustang that used to do that. Turns out the bolts weren't long enough, and didn't have enough threads to torque properly. Not saying that's what is wrong, just saying.

You might want to take a look at the moser girdle from summit. It's practically the same girdle and it even comes with arp bolts and gasket. I think its made by TA cause mine has it stamped on the back.

Iv read a little about them and it seems some people were having problems with the bolts not being metric? I need a p/n for the left handed thread carrier bolts. ARP maybe?
