Im not saying they all need shimmed, just that you ALWAYS need to check, then shim if needed. The last thing you want is your brand new converter causing the transmission to take a **** all in it.

The idea of the thread is so you guys check this stuff when you install your transmissions. Many guys never think about it because they were never told to. Well you've been told! Good luck with the install. Vince

Looks like my 2-3 clutch pack is no bueno. The new stall is pretty nice though. **** transmissions!!

Based on what you told me on the phone, I'd say that it's something with the 3/4 clutch. Either way you need to pull it and teardown/inspect... Or just replacement all together like you said.

How does that Phoenix converter feel? I just ordered one from them as Greg and company have a great reputation on a few other forums I am on.
