thoughts on ford 8.8 rear end on rcsb sierra?
Any body have experience with a ford explorer 8.8 rear end on a full size rcsb truck?
With my plans on a narrowed axle and 5 lug conversion the ford explorer axle is exactly wat suits my needs.
Be ending that its about 8" narrower than a stock 10 bolt and has the correct disc brakes to run 15" wheels I want to try it. Keep in mind i am doing a ladder bar setup so leaf spring perch location is not an issue for me. Before I do so I would like to hear the pros and cons from u guys first though. Please chime in with your thoughts.

The axle I'm looking to purchase is from a 97 explorer which came with 31 spline axles. I will be building it with a spool aftermarket gear set and a diff cover. New c-clips of course ( they are a weak point) and weld the axle tubes (they are prone to spin).

yea that sounds like a good idea..
i cant rem if its the 8.8.. but it shares the same pinion bearing and such as a GM 12 bolt.. and the diffs are almost the same size.
