Default thug

question guys. my 08 avalanche with a 3/5 drop and a spohn adjustable panhard bar. at a stop, light turns green, i punch the gas and theres a thug from my rear suspension. what could that be? i was thinking my upper and lower control arms bushings in the rear is bad. i jus ordered the spohn uppers and lower arms. anything else i should check?

What drop kit did you use? Any pics of the current setup?

I used a McGaughy's drop kit. It jus started happening The last couple of months.

Can you post up some pics? We might be able to give you an idea of what to look for if we see it.

Does it happen if you hold your foot on the brake so the truck isn't rolling? I would CAREFULLY have a friend watch from out from under the tires and see if he can see/hear what's happening. Or you could always have a mother in law look from under the truck...

Mine was doing the same thing for awhile until i figured out what it was. The frame mounted bracket hole was elongated (stretched side to side) and it allowed the lower control arm to move and create a metal to metal sound. I removed the lower control arm and stuck the bolt through the hole of the bracket to see where the metal was out of circle. I then welded metal to the bracket hole and filed/drilled down the excess weld to reform it into a circle again. After that i never had a problem and it's been 3 yrs. Hope that helps.
