Default ticking noise in bellhouse area... i think.

at first it was only doing it in first gear from 1500 RPMs to 1900 RPMs , and once it would shift to second the sound would go away. now it is doing it almost all the time. except in third.

does it in reverse as well now. and when im coming to a stop, it will kinda lunge /surge.

im thinking cracked flex plate. but i opened up the inspection plate and rotated the plate all the way around looking for a crack, to no avail. saw little white lines coming from the center out, but didnt look like cracks, i couldnt rub them off though.

maybe TC? help please.

Thats strange....you may have to drop the trans and inspect the T/C and flywheel. Make sure there is not anyting touching the D/S.

Check for loose t/c bolts. However the noise related to that sounds like rocks in a tin can. I just blew my Pump today, I had a ticking noise, but I believe it was an exhaust leak from my exhaust manifold flange to the cat-back. Just my .02 cents.

mine makes a weird sound at around 1800rpm as well. sounds like it's coming from the trans. I did have the TC changed a few months back and think it started after that. Hmmm, i'll swing by the tranny shop to have him take a peek.

i think i found the culprit. the rear driveshaft wiggles back and forth. im thinkin it might be the U joint. its at the shop right now. im having them take care of some other stuff as well.

That sux man hope it isnt too bad. Atleast you have a nice driveshaft when you get it back up and running and dont ahve to worry about it flying out from underneath you while hauling *** down the highway.
