Default tire life

just getting an idea of how long my tires should technically last me. i've got the stock general ameritrac's. 245/70/17 is the size if I remember correctly.

rear's are old front stockers
fronts are newer tires
I've got almost 20k on the stockers, and the 2 front ones have 5k since I roasted the other tires.

what tires does everyone run? just wonderin what I should get after these. if the timing is right I'll just get a set of 20's with tires or somethin
thanks,

jake

I don't have any full life numbers but my stock 255/70-16 Generals were at 50% life when I changed them at 18K miles. I noticed the outsides of the front tires always wore prematurely compared to the rear tires. From what I've seen on other trucks, this is a very common problem. After I wear out the current Toyos on my truck and get a new set of tires, I plan on adding some negative camber in the front to help out with this premature wear.

yeah I have the premature wear too. they're ok tires, not as bad as some people say they are. I'm hopin to maybe buy a pair of them in a few months to temporarily keep these wheels and then go with some tahoe 20's or some silvy ss 20's w/some good tires.

anyone got a good deal on either wheels?

thanks for the help,

jake
