I see they have a 255/55/16, I think this equals to a 27"tire, would I see some gains from a 245/75/16 to a 255/55/16??? I do have 3.42's so I believe it should help??? does anybody have that calculator that would say what my rear ratio would equal if I go to a 255/55/16???
thanks...
thanks...

it will help your off the line performance a tad. i don't have the calc you need but if it is an inch or two shorter than what you are running now you will end up changing the effective gear ratio. basically it's like a lot of guys running 26" dr's at the track vs the street tire size. i shaved 2 tenths just changing tires from my street tire to the dr. granted, it helped in the traction area a bit too but i wasn't spinning that terribly bad on the street tires. so i'll give a tenth to traction and a tenth to a shorter tire. that might not be the best way to do it but hey, this isn't nhra.

I love them on the 16" stockers, Great traction too
i got the 245/75-16 only .4" shorter than stock, and a little thinner. Next year I will put these on the front and try and go a little wider in the rear.
I think that they are very good in the rain, there definetly no rain tire, but the traction you will get will suprize you.

A 27" tire for daily use, to me is too short(for looks). For a DR at the track it is fine.
I like the look of a tire around the stock height, between 29-32" tall. You could go to a 32.2" tall 275/75 16 with a 4.10 swap and have the same result as a 3.42 with a 27" tire(see below) (3rd gear cause its a 1:1).
3.43 + 27" @ 75mph = 3200 rpm in 3rd
3.73 + 27" @ 75mph = 3480 rpm in 3rd
VS.
3.43 + 30" @ 75mph = 2880 rpm in 3rd
3.73 + 30" @ 75mph = 3130 rpm in 3rd
4.10 + 30" @ 75mph = 3445 rpm in 3rd
VS.
3.43 + 32.2" @ 75mph = 2685 rpm in 3rd
3.73 + 32.2" @ 75mph = 2920 rpm in 3rd
4.10 + 32.2" @ 75mph = 3210 rpm in 3rd

i drove on wet roads the other day and these do a lot better than the falkens did. i could barely take off at any speed with the other tires. at least these i can give it some gas without the rear end just spinning.
