which tires for traction w/20's?

Default which tires for traction w/20's?

right now i have goodyear eagles size 285/45/20. i was wondering if there is a tire that is more sticky or hooks better that will fit a 20" wheel? im looking for more grip from a dead stop. thanks

I think almost any tire will grip better than the Goodyears....Nittos, Toyos, Kumhos...just go over to Tire Rack, plug in your size, and see what they tell you is available.

How wide are your 20s? I really like the 305-40-20 from Nitto but they dont recommend putting it on a 20x8.5. I may go with 295-45-20 from Toyo.

i think those will be too wide, do the nittos perform pretty good? or i was also looking at some kumhos

I ran a 1.977 60ft on my 285/50/20 Toyo proxies. Hopefully a better 60 when I get these Caltracs on. But these Toyo's hook pretty good.

My Mastercraft Avenger ST's hook pretty good. Cooper Zeons are pretty good too.

Believe it or not Futurias (yes, the ones from pep boys) hook really good on the street!!!!!! Buddy of mine had those on his notch back and never had much problems, he had min. mods though.
